Taylor’s Nominated for National Training Excellence Award

We are delighted to announce Taylor’s Removals and Storage was nominated as a finalist for the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) 2017 National Training Excellence Award.

The ATA is the peak body representing the trucking industry. Its members include state and sector trucking associations, major logistics companies and businesses with leading expertise in truck technology. The ATA represents many thousands of trucking businesses, ranging from owner-drivers to large fleets.

“These awards recognise and honour those in the trucking industry that go above and beyond,” ATA CEO Ben Maguire, said. “I wish to extend my congratulations to these exceptional members of the trucking industry, and I encourage everyone to watch this space as we release more information about their inspiring stories,” Mr Maguire said.

The National Trucking Industry Award for Training Excellence is a strategy designed to encourage transport operators to take considered pro-active action to improve their organisation’s training strategy and to improve their safety culture. This award is sponsored by the Driver Education Centre of Australia (DECA), the leader in post-licence driver excellence programs & training solutions.

The stories behind the finalists and winner will be used as case studies of benchmark performance and to illustrate potential and actual improved safety outcomes. Each year trucking operators will be asked to demonstrate their initiatives in a particular area of training.

The National Training Excellence winner receives a trophy and a prize equivalent to a fixed sum in the form of a training package. The winner is also offered a complimentary registration to the following year’s conference.

The awards will be presented at Trucking Australia 2017, which will be held from 21-23 June at the Darwin Convention Centre during the Gala Dinner on the Foundation Sponsors Day. The Foundation Sponsors Day celebrates and recognises the Foundation Sponsors of the ATA and will take place on June 23, 2017. The Don Watson Memorial Award will also be presented on the night.
